Anthony Hopkins celebrated his 45th birthday without alcohol

Popular actor Anthony Hopkins celebrated 45 years of sobriety.

He announced this on his Instagram account.

"New Year's Eve is approaching. It's been a tough year, full of grief and sadness for many, many people. But today, 45 years ago, an alarm bell rang for me," the actor noted.

Hopkins added that his life was headed for disaster and said that he drank himself to near death.

The actor also stressed that the decision not to drink alcohol has dramatically changed his life. Besides, Anthony admitted that he has days when he is overcome with doubts, but he copes with them.
