Last night was truly special as I had the honor of hosting @smiletrain 25th anniversary celebration—the world’s largest cleft organization. Having my mother by my side made the evening even more poignant, as we deeply understand the importance of unwavering support for the cleft community and the dedicated medical professionals surrounding cleft care. Our own family experience has taught us the profound impact that compassionate care can have. As soon as Monaco turned 2, I taught her to meditate. Meditating enhanced my life in such a tender way that I wanted to teach Monaco how to emotionally regulate as early as possible. I not scared.” I could see the sunset glisten in her eyes with each push. She looked back at me and squeezed my leg, assuring me she felt safe. Then her squeal.
